Speed Featured in O2-UK Print Ad

I woke up this morning to find a message in my inbox telling me one of my app icons was in the newspaper! After an afternoon of searching, I found it in The Metro on page 6. It's there, just to the left of the SMS icon on the home screen =) What tickles me is that my icon has greater prominence than Twinkle, which is one of the tiniest. Boo-yah! (I should *really* get Speed fixed for iPhone 2.2) Update: O2 have added a scan of the ad to their Flickr pool.

  2. I left feedback in the App Store with the "Report a Problem" button, but this seemed to be the best place to mention it in order to ensure it gets noticed. Even after updating the Speed app to version 1.0.5, the speed indicated by the app is incorrect. When I was driving to work this morning, my speedometer was at 70 mph, while the app reported 73 mph. The thing is, my speedometer is fast*. I was actually traveling around 66 mph. I've verified this using a stopwatch and mile markers. The Speed app was accurate before the 2.2 iPhone update, so I hope this can be fixed.

  3. @johaen8 unfortunately no, it can't be fixed, because Apple have introduced something in 2.2 which is giving absolutely inaccurate results, and it's something I have to wait for them to fix. The 1.0.5 update wasn't something I'd planned at all, but I had to write up some stuff to try and get better results from the location data.

As soon as Apple fix the issue in 2.2.1 or whatever, then Speed will be accurate as before.

Thank you for your reply. I've done some testing, I have a different iPhone app called TrackThing. It has a speedometer, and it seems to be alot closer to what I would call an accurate speed. Although I will say that it's not as "steady" as Speed is. I'm not sure what's going on, but I hope that sometime eventually you can get your Speed app back to being accurate, even if it does have to wait until iPhone OS ver. 2.3.
